Software Issue Diesel Engines EA189

Dear customers,

As you may be aware, the Volkswagen Group in Germany is working hard to implement technical measures to eliminate deviations in software installed in certain diesel engines, namely EA189. Some of our ŠKODA vehicles contain the EA189 engine, and the search tool below will help you to determine if your vehicle is one of them.

How to find out if the software issue concerns me?
In order to use the search, simply enter your VIN (vehicle identification number) into the search field and click search.

Your VIN consists of a combination of 17 letters and numbers and will start with the letters TMB, depending on the age of your car, can be found in the following places:

- The Service Booklet

- On the car exterior at the base of the windscreen on the passenger side of the vehicle, underneath the wiper blades

- On a sticker at the close to the base of the driver’s seat – visible when the door is open

- Stamped into the engine compartment on the right hand suspension strut dome

Please note that the system will only detect the status of the VIN if the number entered is 100% correct.
